CityU holds the “Gender Equality and Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace” Workshop

In an ongoing effort to enhance awareness of gender equality and workplace harassment issues, the University holds a “Gender Equality and Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace” workshop on June 19th.

The University invited Lawyer Lei Weng Teng to provide colleagues with a comprehensive understanding of Macau’s laws and regulations regarding gender equality and harassment, as well as share prevention and handling methods for workplace harassment, legal protections, and complaint procedures. Additionally, the University has also established a complaint mechanism to assist colleagues in establishing a respectful and inclusive working environment.

In the workshop, the representative combined practical case studies with clear explanations to help colleagues understand the concept of “equality,” the principles of equality in the Constitution and Macau basic law, and discussed the definition, impact, and consequences of workplace harassment. Attendees learned how to identify and respond to inappropriate behavior. The workshop provided rich and detailed content, creating a relaxed and lively atmosphere. Some colleagues expressed their appreciation for the University’s promotion of gender equality and prevention of workplace harassment. They found the workshop informative and gained valuable knowledge on protection and complaint methods.

The City University of Macau always upholds the social responsibility and philosophy of “serving Macao, integrating into the Greater Bay Area”. We attach great importance to staff training and development, and will continue to hold this series of activities and workshops to provide more self-enhancement opportunities for staff members. The University will continue to organize a series of activities and lectures to provide opportunities for professional growth, further enhance awareness of gender equality and workplace harassment issues among staff members, and strive to create an equal and respectful working environment.
