CityU Staff Visited Patriotic Education Base to Consolidate Sense of Patriotism

To cultivate a sense of identity and belonging among staff members towards Macao and China, as well as to promote understanding and respect for Chinese culture, the University organized a visit to the Patriotic Education Base on March 22 (Friday) to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of establishment of Macao SAR this year. Through engaging and interactive exhibitions, we aim to deepen staff members’ understanding of Chinese history and culture, the achievements of China and Macao’s development, as well as the local history of Macao.

During the visit, colleagues were able to learn from the explanation aided with multi-media facilities and equipment, and gained a deeper understanding of the Chinese cultural heritage. In addition, a history educational video was shown and our colleagues enjoyed a cultural performance. Colleagues who participated in the event said that the content of the exhibition was fascinating, and they deeply realized how Macao, as a stage for cultural exchanges and collisions between East and West, had contributed to Chinese history. At the same time, they also realized that Macao’s development and achievements are inseparable from China, and felt a deep sense of pride for our country, and we should be thankful for the peaceful society nowadays.

City University of Macau has consistently upheld its social responsibility and educational philosophy of “serving Macao, integrating into the Greater Bay Area.” The University always attaches great importance to staff training and development, as well as the awareness of national security and promoting patriotism and patriotic education. We will continue to hold relevant series of activities and seminars in the future to continuously enhance staff members’ knowledge and understanding of related fields.
