CityU Holds a Series of Environmental Protection Themed Events

In response to Earth Day on 22 April and to raise staff awareness of environmental protection and sustainable development, the University organised a series of environmental protection themed events – an Environmental Knowledge Sharing Stations and a workshop on 19-20 April.

19 April, an Environmental Knowledge Sharing Station was set up in the Administrative Building, with an interactive quiz game and related videos played on site. Participants can receive exquisite and cute potted plants. This activity received enthusiastic response and positive feedback. On 20 April, Mr. Chio Loi Long, a representative from the Macao Environmental Protection Bureau, was invited to deliver a workshop on environmental protection, material recycling and plastic reduction. The content includes information on resource sorting and recycling programs, ECO FUN Recycling Stations, and clean recycling (paper, plastic and electrical appliances).

Colleagues expressed that the workshop and knowledge sharing station helped raise their awareness on environmental protection, energy conservation and sustainable development. They learned to prioritize the use of duplex printing and reduce the purchase of bottled water, so as to reduce unnecessary waste in office and daily life.

The City University of Macau always upholds the social responsibility and philosophy of “rooting in Macau and serving the Greater Bay Area”. We pay close attention to the daily work-related training and development of staff, and also hope to take this opportunity to enhance the awareness of our staff members in environmental protection and sustainable development through this series of activities, contributing to the environmental protection.
