2023 Chinese New Year Staff Member Celebration Series

With the Chinese New Year is approaching, the Human Resources Office (HRO) of the University organized the “2023 Chinese New Year – Year of the Rabbit Celebration activities” from January 11th to 14th. Hoping by organising these activities, our staff members are able to experience a strong festive atmosphere and welcome the arrival of the Chinese New Year together. At the same time, enhance team cohesion among the University.

Chinese New Year puddings coupons distribution

As a traditional custom to celebrate the Chinese New Year, rice cakes convey people’s yearning and good wishes for the New Year. Therefore, the University has specially prepared Chinese New Year Puddings for our staff members. Hoping that everyone can receive love and good wishes from the University. During the distribution, colleagues expressed their gratitude to the University for the special arrangements, chit-chatting and wishing each other a prosperous New Year of Rabbit ahead.

On-site creation of Fai Chun

From January 11th to 13th, HRO held the “Write and Create Fai Chun Together” activity in the Administration Building for three consecutive days. Writing stationeries such as red papers, writing brushes and gold ink were prepared for staff members to write their own Fai Chun. Fai Chun is not only a beautiful decoration for the Spring Festival, but also a symbol of good wishes for the coming year. Staff members participated actively in the event and the atmosphere was pleasant and warm.

Year of the Rabbit Needle Felting Workshop

To coincide with the Chinese New Year, HRO combined the “Leisure Workshop” with the “Year of the Rabbit ” elements, the Needle Felting Workshop is launched on January 14th. Hoping to provide opportunities for our staff members to interact through the activity. HRO invited experienced handicraft instructors to guide our staff members throughout the making of Rabbit Needle Felting decoration. Participants commented that they had a good time during the workshop, and some colleagues expressed happily that they could present such special and lovely rabbit decorations to relatives and friends as their Chinese New Year blessing.

City University of Macau has always been adhering to the “people-oriented” spirit, paying attention to the physical and mental development of all staff members, and would also like to promote the importance of work-life balance by organizing the leisure workshop.
