City University of Macau has been committed to cultivating young talents for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. To this end, the University continues recruiting academic staff in different professional aspects globally, and we are happy to see many excellent scholars from all over the world joining the CityU family in this new academic year. Human Resources Office has scheduled a series of onboarding and orientation events for new staff on September 1, 2 and 7, including orientation and seminars in academic and administrative areas. Through these activities, our new academic staff members are sure to have better understanding of the development direction of CityU and smoothly commence their roles in the new academic year.

The onboarding training on September 1-2 was led by representatives from Information Technology Office, Human Resources Office, Academic Affairs Office, Research and Technology Administration Office as well as Library, covering topics about IT system, HR regulations, teaching quality, scientific research system and library database. We were honored to invite Vice-Rector Zhou Wanlei and Vice-Rector Ip Kuai Peng to share CityU’s academic integrity and teaching philosophy. All  new staff reflected that they benefited a lot from all sessions. Human Resources Office also presented the Mooncake gift boxes and lanterns to our new academic staff, wishing them and their families a happy Mid-Autumn Festival.

Rector Liu Jun and other University Leaders held an Academic Reception with light refreshments for all new staff members on September 7, offering a relaxing occasion for participants to get to know each other. During the event, Rector Liu invited everyone to make a brief self-introduction and encouraged cross-disciplinary communication, creating a lively atmosphere. Rector Liu expressed that he was glad to see distinguished scholars from all over the world joining CityU, and looked forward to CityU growing as a high-level and international metropolitan university.

City University of Macau will continue adhering to the social responsibility and educational philosophy of “rooting in Macau and serving the Greater Bay Area”, valuing training and development of talents, and providing our staff with more opportunities in communication and self-improvement. We hope that everyone will grow together with the University and strive to cultivate more local talents for Macau development.
