In order to strengthen our staff members’ knowledge and understanding of work-related laws and regulations constantly, the University holds different workshops on legal topic annually. This year, the University invited representatives from the Commission Against Corruption (Macau) to conduct a workshop regarding “Prevention and Suppression of Bribery in the Private Sector” Law, explaining the legal provisions related to the prevention of bribery and accepting benefits, as well as sharing relevant cases for us.

Ms. Lou Cam Kiu, Senior Officer to the Community Relations Department of the Commission Against Corruption, explained in detail of the laws on “Prevention and Suppression of Bribery in the Private Sector” and common crimes involving violations of integrity. Besides getting to know the legal knowledge, staff members can learn how to avoid bribery and corruption at work with the cases analysis and cases sharing by Ms. Lou.

In the Q&A session at the end of the workshop, participants were keen to ask questions about situations they might encounter at work, and Ms. Lou answered them in detail with her professional knowledge and experience. The atmosphere of the workshop was relaxed and cozy. Some colleagues expressed their appreciation to the University for holding a series of workshops on law and believed that these activities would be of great help in deepening the work-related legal knowledge of all staff members.
