“Introduction to Occupational Safety and Health” Workshop

In the fast-paced work environment nowadays, office workers often face situations such as high work pressure and working in a fixed posture for a long time. If these situations are not handled properly, occupational health problems including work pressure and occupational musculoskeletal strain may occur. To this end, the University has invited Ms. Leong, the representative from Labor Affairs Bureau, to hold an “Occupational Safety and Health” workshop on 23 November. Ms. Leong explained the definition of work fatigue, work pressure, the main factors and impacts of work-related accidents, as well as effective methods for reducing stress.

This workshop introduced common cases at work by giving detailed descriptions; therefore, participants can deepen their knowledge of occupational health and avoid work accidents due to work fatigue and mental insufficiency. At the same time, it also strengthens staff’s awareness of work crises, thereby improving work efficiency and physical and mental health.

In addition to theoretical explanations, the workshop also has interactive sessions. Ms. Leong introduced the “114 Office Exercises” launched by the Health Bureau, and drove all the participants to exercise together. Afterwards, they took a meditation sit to soothe their mood and relax slowly.

The City University of Macau always upholds the social responsibility and philosophy of “rooting in Macau and serving the Greater Bay Area”. We pay attention to the work safety and physical and mental health of staff members while attaching importance to personnel training and development. The University will continue to provide more opportunities for self-enhancement of our staff, growing together with our staff and striving to cultivate more local talents for the society.
