“Law on Prevention and Repression of Corruption in Private Sector” Workshop

In order to strengthen the awareness and vigilance of the incumbents of acts of integrity, prevention of bribery, and acceptance of benefits in daily work, as well as to improve teaching and administrative services, the City University of Macau specially invited the representative of Commission Against Corruption to the University to deliver a talk about the “Law on Prevention and Repression of Corruption in Private Sector”. Ms. Leong Mei Ming, a senior technician of the Community Relations Department of the CCAC, gave detailed explanations on relevant definitions and legal provisions, supplemented by case sharing, interactive discussion and other links, which effectively enhanced the incumbent’s awareness of integrity in staff’s daily work.

The purpose of this talk is to have a better grasp of the basic definitions of the “Law on Prevention and Repression of Corruption in Private Sector”, including penalty of bribery in the private sector etc. The Director of the Human Resources Office of the City University of Macau also supplemented the policy of “Universities accepting benefits and conflicts of interest” during the lecture, and deepened the staff’s daily work in the integrity and compliance with the law and the response to conflicts of interest, so as to consolidate the good career of faculty Ethics and character. The attending staff conducted on-site consultation and interaction based on the problems encountered during work. Ms. Leong provided detailed answers with professional knowledge and experience, and the atmosphere was relaxed and warm. Some staff members said that through this lecture, they were able to learn more about the laws related to incorruption, which will help to enhance their awareness of implementing incorruptibility in their daily work.
