City University of Macau has consistently upheld the holistic view of national security and is committed to safeguarding national sovereignty, security and development interests. To further deepen staff members’ understanding of the holistic view of national security and enhance their comprehensive awareness of national security, as well as to strengthen their sense of national identity and responsibility, the University organized visits to the “National Security Education Exhibition” under the leadership of Rector Prof. Jun Liu, Council Members Ms. Cintia Chan and Ms. Sandy Chan, Vice Rectors Prof. Wanlei Zhou and Prof. Kuai Peng Ip, and Pro-Rectors Dr. Wicky So, Dr. Robert Chan and Dr. Vince Chu. Nearly 150 staff members participated in the visits held on April 18, April 29, and May 13, 2026. The exhibition was jointly organized by the Macao Special Administrative Region Government and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region.
The exhibition, themed “Coordinating Development and Security to Safeguard the New Journey of the 15th Five-Year Plan,” comprehensively reviewed the remarkable achievements attained under the holistic view of national security in support of the 14th Five-Year Plan. Featuring five thematic zones, the exhibition systematically outlined the practical pathways of national security work in Macao in the new era. Through diverse formats such as data visualization, historical footage, and interactive technologies, it provided an in-depth interpretation of the holistic view of national security and presented a panoramic view of the integrated framework of development and security at both the national and Macao levels.
During the visit, participating staff attentively listened to the guided explanations and carefully explored the exhibition content, gaining a deeper understanding of the national security system and Macao’s governance practices in this field, thereby further strengthening their sense of national identity. Prof. Cheung, Dean of the Faculty of Finance, noted, “The exhibition highlights that national security is not only related to politics and defense but is also closely connected to our daily lives. As educators in the new era, we should enhance our awareness of national security and consciously safeguard it.” Prof. Li, Executive Associate Dean of the Faculty of International Tourism and Management remarked, “National security education is an integral part of patriotic education. Through this exhibition, staff and students can gain a more intuitive understanding of its connotations, internalize such understanding into conscious action, and deepen their comprehensive grasp of the national security system.”
