From January to February, City University of Macau organized a series of orientation training program for newly appointed academic staff of the second semester. The program featured lectures delivered by Rector Jun Liu, Vice Rector Wanlei Zhou, Vice Rector Kuai Peng Ip, Pro-Rector Wicky So, Pro-Rector Robert Chan, Pro-Rector Vince Chu, as well as Unit Heads. The orientation training program covered multiple aspects including teaching, research, administrative management, and cultural awareness, aiming to help new faculty gain a comprehensive understanding of campus operations and smoothly engage in teaching and research work.
At the initial stage of the orientation program, University Leaders delivered lectures on topics such as the University’s development vision, research directions, academic integrity, and postgraduate management, enabling them to quickly grasp the University’s organizational structure and academic culture. Subsequent sessions gradually delved into practical aspects such as information technology systems, student affairs, and admissions strategies, helping new faculty better integrate into daily teaching and administrative processes.
The orientation program also included themes such as human resources policies, governance systems, branding and communications, and library resources, allowing participants to become familiar with campus operations. Subsequent program focused on teaching quality assurance, academic affairs management systems, and research ranking introductions, supporting faculty in enhancing their teaching professionalism from the perspective of university frameworks and quality monitoring.
