Under the guiding vision of building a “Healthy Campus”, City University of Macau has been rolling out a variety of staff support initiatives that provide practical information and professional assistance, further enhancing staff members’ quality of life and level of work engagement. To this end, the University organized the “Employee Assistance Program: Financial Management Workshop” on 28 November 2025 (Friday), to help staff better manage their finances and plan for the future at different stages of life.
The workshop featured Ms. May Wong, a seasoned financial planner, as the keynote speaker. With many years of experience in financial planning and social services, Ms. Wong used professional sharing and case-based discussions to guide participants step by step in understanding their financial situation, while building risk management and emergency-response mechanisms into their financial planning, thereby helping individuals and families establish a safety net and foster healthy family functioning.

Through practical tools, clear procedures and case exercises, the workshop supported university staff in drawing up personalized financial planning blueprints, turning abstract financial concepts into concrete action plans and further strengthening their sense of economic security and family stability. Such activities not only assist staff in handling actual financial pressures, but also help relieve psychological burdens, promote work-life balance, and in turn enhance overall work engagement and organizational belonging. The University hopes to continue, through the “Employee Assistance Program”, to launch a wide range of wellness and professional development activities that, while supporting staff in their career development, also address their needs in physical, psychological and social domains, thereby fostering a healthier and more resilient community.
