To review the integration of newly recruited academic staff into the University and to create a platform for academic exchange, the City University of Macau held the “AY2024/2025 Year-End Gathering for New Academic Staff” at the Exhibition Hall of the Cultural Center on June 24, 2025. Rector Jun Liu, Vice-Rector Wanlei Zhou, and Pro-Rector Vince Chu attended the event, engaging in in-depth conversations with all newly recruited teachers. The atmosphere was warm and cordial.
During the sharing session, new faculty members raised questions based on their first-year teaching experiences, focusing on specific issues such as administrative procedures and teaching resources. The University leadership provided detailed explanations in response to their concerns, drawing on practical cases from daily administrative experience to offer in-depth answers to the challenges raised.

In the subsequent open exchange session, new teachers actively shared their experiences of integrating into the campus community, “The most memorable part of my first year at the CityU has been the enthusiastic support from my colleagues.” They also remarked, “The face-to-face discussion with university leaders today helped resolve issues that concerned me before. Such direct communication is truly rewarding.”
The event concluded with a cozy tea reception. The Human Resources Office specially prepared Macanese delicacies, providing teachers with the opportunity to engage in casual discussions about their work and life in Macau in a relaxed atmosphere, fostering cohesion within the academic team.
Building on this sharing session, the City University of Macau plans to launch more related activities in the future to offer genuine support to every newly recruited academic staff member. The development of the University depends on the infusion of new talent. Moving forward, the University will continue to optimize communication and exchange mechanisms, ensuring that every new teacher finds both career support and a sense of belonging at CityU.
